State Championships at DU Ritchie Center

The Winter Guard State Championships take place over two days at the University of Denver Ritchie Center. The first day, Friday, March 27, is the Preliminary competition. The second day, Saturday, March 28, is the Finals competition. Eleven Scholastic A teams will compete during preliminaries. The top six scoring teams from prelims will advance to the finals competition on Saturday.

Only clear bags will be allowed into Magness Arena. Please see the Parking and Other Details section below for more information.

RV Show Day Schedule (Prelims), March 27, 2026:

3:50 p.m.: Students arrive at RV (NO Rehearsal)

4:00 p.m.: Pack and Load

4:05 p.m.: Depart RV

4:45 p.m.: Arrive at DU Ritchie Center

6:23 p.m.: Performance

TBD: Dinner

7:03 p.m.: Retreat

7:30 p.m.: Depart DU

~8:15 p.m.: Students arrive back at RV/Parents to pick up students at RV

Prelims Ticket Prices:

• Adults: $25

• Students/Seniors/Military: $20

• 5 and under: FREE

Finals Ticket Prices:

• Adults: $30

• Students/Seniors/Military: $25

• 5 and under: FREE

Combination Prelims & Finals Ticket Prices:

• Adults: $50

• Students/Seniors/Military: $40

• 5 and under: FREE

Parking and Other Details:

• Lot 108 is for spectators and bus/truck parking at no charge. 

• Limited handicap parking is free in lot 311.

• Limited space in the Garage Lot C at a small charge.

• Lot 401 is not available and you will be ticketed by the University.

• DU has a clear bag policy. Clear bags must not be larger than 12” x 6” x 12”. Please click here for details.

• Metal detectors will be used at the spectator entrance. Bags brought into the Ritchie Center and Magness Arena will be searched. All persons are subject to search. 

• Patrons may not bring outside food or beverages inside the building. Concession stands are located throughout the arena and offer a variety of food and beverages. 

• Concessions at DU are cashless! Please plan to use debit or credit when purchasing any concessions while at Magness Arena.
