Ralston Valley Winter Guard

Winter Guard is an indoor color guard, competitive, performance-based activity that incorporates choreographed staging, dance, and manipulation of equipment such as flags, prop rifles, and sabers. Rehearsals begin in late November, with competitions taking place from February to early April. RV Winter Guard is a member of the Rocky Mountain Color Guard Association and competes at a variety of RMCGA competitions during the season. Ralston Valley was promoted to the Scholastic A (SA) class for the 2026 competition season after finishing in second place in the Scholastic AA (SAA) class in the 2025 State Championship.

2025 - 2026 Rehearsal Schedule

All rehearsals are from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., unless otherwise specified.

Fall 2025:

Try it Nights:  Wed., Nov. 12 and 19

Official Rehearsals Begin in December: 

Wed., Dec. 3

Mon., Dec. 8

Wed., Dec. 17

Winter 2026:

Saturday Rehearsals: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  (Design Days)

Sat. Jan. 3 and 17

Weekday Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays from January 6 to March 26
- Exceptions:
The week of Mar. 2: Modified rehearsal times to accommodate RV Musical tech week
The week of Mar. 9: Modified rehearsal times to accommodate RV Musical performances
The week of Mar. 23: Spring Break Week - Mar. 25 and 26 - Please plan vacations accordingly!

Winter Guard Fees

Winter Guard students are charged a $500 "fair share" fee, payable to RV Music Boosters. The fee covers registration fees, music rights, uniforms, flags and other equipment, and meals/refreshments.

If you would like to pay by check, please mail a check made payable to Ralston Valley Music Boosters to PO Box 740058, Arvada, CO 80006.
